Marriage may feel like a good option at this point…but it may not feel like the best option for him. If you two have been together for seven years and of those seven years living together for one year, then I believe you have every right to wonder. The variable is the fact that you two are living together already, so what is this hold up if you’ve already been doing the grown up thing for a year?
I have made it a point to emphasize to him that I don’t need and/or want an expensive ring , since he is very strict with his expenditures. We’ve talked about everything, wanting a small wedding, avoiding debt, raising kids, future career goals, etc, and I’ve done my best to emphasize to him that I don’t need anything expensive or over the top. I know some men hesitate to propose for financial concerns and at this point he’s super squared away so that’s why I included that.
